PUBLICATION POLICY
Authors undertake that their publications are created in compliance with all universal ethical rules, and articles are accepted in accordance with this commitment. Authors are responsible for all statements in their work.
The articles should be prepared in accordance with the spelling rules of the journal, and the articles that do not comply with the spelling rules are rejected or sent back to the authors for correction. The journal is entitled to make language revisions in the accepted works without making any changes in content and meaning. The journal accepts original research articles, reviews, letters to the editor and case reports on condition that they have not been published elsewhere. All authors should state their financial and personal relationships with third parties or organizations that may adversely affect their work and create prejudice. Examples of potential conflicts of interest may include employment, advisory, stock ownership, honour, paid expert testimony, patent applications, and other funds. Any conflicts of interest should be indicated in the cover letter.
The editorial and publication processes of the journal are shaped in accordance with the guidelines of the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authorship should be based on the following four factors, according to the ICMJE: 1. Significant contributions to the work’s conception or design; or the work’s data collecting, analysis, or interpretation 2. Drafting or critically reviewing the work for key intellectual content 3. Final approval of the published version 4. Acceptance of responsibility for all parts of the work, including ensuring that any questions about the accuracy or integrity of any portion of the work are thoroughly examined and resolved.
An author should be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for certain aspects of the work in addition to being accountable for the work he or she has done. Furthermore, authors should have faith in the integrity of their co-authors’ contributions. All authors should meet all four criteria for authorship, and anyone who meets all four criteria should be considered an author.
- Only manuscripts uploaded from the journal system are evaluated. The article is not accepted through e-mail.
- All submitted works go through pre-evaluation and peer-review processes. These stages are carried out by the editor of the journal.
After the author uploads the article to the journal, the pre-evaluation process of the article begins. At this stage, the editor examines the article in terms of content and form and whether the study is suitable for the purpose and scope of the journal, and;
- may decide that the article is not suitable for the journal and rejects it.
- may resend the article to the corresponding author for corrections.
- may direct the article to the referees and initiate the peer-review process.
All manuscripts submitted to JAMP will go through a double-blind peer-review process. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two, independent reviewers who are experts in their fields in order to ensure an unbiased evaluation process. In the cases where there is no consensus among the reviewers, the article is evaluated by the third reviewer. The final decision authority in the decision-making process of all articles belongs to the Editor.
Authors should mark their changes to the main text with colourful marker when submitting revision files of their articles. Revised manuscripts must be submitted within one month from the date of the decision letter. If the revised version of the manuscript is not submitted within the allocated time, the article is rejected. If the submitting authors believe that additional time is required, they should request this extension before the initial one-month period is over. Accepted manuscripts are checked for grammar, punctuation, and format.
The final version of the accepted articles is arranged according to the journal publication format and sent to the corresponding author, and approval is obtained for publication. Authors should review the article and approve for publication. If the article requires any correction other than the publication format, the request for correction should be notified to the editor at [email protected]. Requests for correction are evaluated by the editor and notified to the corresponding author. Articles that are not approved by the corresponding author are not published.
To demand the withdrawal of an article under assessment/review or published author/authors have to scan and send the letter of application (application should be signed) to [email protected]. The Publication Board/Editorial Board considers the application and answers to author/authors in 15 days. Author/authors can’t send the article to any other journals before The Publication Board/Editorial Board reaches a decision.
Articles which are accepted to publish but not published yet, articles without volume/number/page information and articles which are published can be withdrawn form JAMP under these circumstances:
- If the article contains misinformation,
- If the article has unofficial copies,
- If the editors consider that the author(s) committed an ethical violation (multiple application, fake authors, plagiarism, fraudulent data use etc.).
